Public organization "Family and children" with support of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" carried out a meeting of orphanage-leavers. It was a beginning for the Association of orphanage-leavers. The main goals of the Association are orphanhood prevention, family policy and protection of orphanage-leavers' rights. The meeting was timed to the New-Year celebration.

A charity party "Mandarin", organized by Rotaract-club "Novosibirsk-Initiative", took place at the "Horizon" fan-club. Humor clubs, rock bands and DJs took part in this project. All money gained from the "Mandarin" party was spent on the New-Year presents for inmates of orphanage 15 "Hope". Rotaractors has presented to the children 4 sleds, 10 ice-boats, 2 developing games (one for 3-year-olds and another one for schoolchildren) and 2 sets for ping-pong.

Rotarians from "Novosibirsk-Initiative" Rotary club has bought 20 units of pap, 60 jars of puree and 2 packing of nappies. Alexander Molodin also gave an interview to the OTS TV company, which you can watch in one of the news-blocks on the channel.

There is a new presentation "Rotary International Programs" in "Documents" section.

On the 29th of November a Soccer championship for inmates of children's homes, organised by Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative", took place in leisure-centre "Soccer Arena". Teams of four city orphanages, as well as team of Regional children's home and team of "Saint Nicolas orphanage" took part in this tournament. All teams received diplomas, letters of commendation and excellent footballs. Participants, who took first three places, received baseballs and football shirts, provided by "UMBRO" company. Mr. Clyde Boyer, 5010 District governor, who is playing a visit to Novosibirsk, presented a first prize, the Cup of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative", to the winners - "Nikolata" team of "Saint Nicolas orphanage".

Novosibirsk public organisation "SibMama" has organised a celebration of "Winter coming" for inmates of children's home #2. Oksana Moiseeva on behalf of the Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" took part in this celebration. Presents for inmates of the children's home - development games for children at the age of 2 - were given.

On November the 15th 2008 within the "Open Heart" regular event seventh charity party took place in "Alpen Grotte" club. The disco was organized for the members of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative", their friends and relatives, members of newly-established Rotaract club of the same name were also invited. During the party the auction was held, where traditional "Alpen Grotte" T-shirt and hand-made clock of cedar were used as lots. Besides, Oksana Moiseeva - a member of the Rotary club - has kindly offered a bunch made of sweets as one of the main lots. Money, gained during the event, will be spent on purchase of expensive equipment for the boarding school 37 for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

Children's hospital in Linevo receives children from the neighbouring villages. These are left children, children from problem families and children who have lost their parents for other reasons, from infants to 14-year-olds. They stay at the hospital until they receive status of children-orphans. Members of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" within rendering assistance to this hospital have bought, brought and installed necessary pieces of furniture: a chair for feeding, a table for swaddling, cases with shelves, tables, chairs and a children's teeter-totter. Rotarians have met hospital's manager Galina Pavlovna, who has shown them how children live there. She has told that the help, both material and human, is needed, because there are no volunteers who could come and play with the children. Members of the club will continue rendering aid to children's hospital in Linevo.

Today the first hearing aid for the little girl Dasha Schastneva has been bought. Her parents have expressed huge gratitude to club and have assured us that beginning from this moment she will hear everything and will be an excellent pupil. As for her doctor, he asserts that purchase of such device is chance for a new life for Dasha. Definitely, she will recover soon. It's worth reminding that the hearing aid was bought within the joint project with "Soccer Arena".

The 24th of October 2008 is a significant date for our club. Today the first meeting of Rotaract youth club took place. Members of the newly-established club held their meeting in one of the lecture rooms at the Institute of Arts. At the meeting activities of Rotaract were discussed and concrete plans for the nearest future were mapped out. Besides, the acting sergeant-at-arms was elected. He undertook the organisation of the next meeting planned on Friday - October 31st, 2008. Apart from that, they have already created a group in www.vkontakte.ru where at first club's activities will be discussed.

On Saturday October the 11th, 2008 members of Rotary club "Novosibisk-Initiative" has planted more than 500 trees in recently opened park in Severo-Chemskoj area . It is worth mentioning how actively local citizens participated in this tree-planting event. No one of local residents helped with well-arranging the park, except the little girl who helped till the end. In reward she got a huge cake. Thanks all sympathizers for pieces of good advice such as how to hold a shovel and how much water to pour in holes.

Alexander Molodin and Michael Kunitsyn took part in press conference on involving youth of Novosibirsk region in enterprise activities. They took up journalists' questions about attraction of youth in Rotaract movement. Members of the club also told journalists about inculcating of the socially-responsible attitude to business among start-up businessmen. Press conference was organised by the Youth business school.

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" has presented a personal computer to talented Novosibirsk poetess - Veronica Monastyrnaja. Thus the club has responded to news about Veronica's old computer breakdown. Now we can again enjoy priceless works of this talented poetess.

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" has taken part in implementation of the project of Natalia Vodjanova's fund "Naked hearts". In September 2008 the new modern children's playground in Severo-Chemskoj area of Novosibirsk was opened. Now children of neighbouring areas can play at the beautiful and comfortable place, and elder children can perfect their skill of riding bicycles and skateboards. Our club has presented three benches, which are situated at the front entrance to the park, to the city.

Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" has presented mother of many children tableware and a vacuum cleaner. Such actions followed the recourse that was heard in the TV programme of broadcasting company OTS. The problem was that in Toguchinsky area of Novosibirsk region this young woman has unexpectedly given birth to triplets and because of that she had financial difficulties. Now members of the club hope that it will be easier for newly-made mummy to do all the housework and she will have more time for upbringing her kids.

The joint project with leisure-centre "Soccer Arena" has given first financial results. It is worth reminding that Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" implements the joint project with leisure-centre "Soccer Arena". Within this project fresh orange juice is sold in the club's bar. All money gained from purchases will be spent on hearing aids for children from poor families.

On the 22nd of August 2008 Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" received delegation of teachers from Ubinsk area. This event has been organised by regional methodical association of geography teachers. Our club organised a cultural program, during which the sightseeing tour across the city was carried out. Apart from that teachers have visited the Art museum and had excursion to the state-of-the-art enterprise - "Baltic" factory. During the trip across river Ob, Peter Smirenko has told the teachers in details what Rotary is and what purposes pursues our club's activities. And the last but not the least was visiting Novosibirsk zoo. Teachers were fascinated with the cultural program and now use received knowledge and experience on geography lessons.

On the 1st of July, 2008 administrative board of Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative" was replaced. All members of the club have gathered on festive outdoor meeting where official ceremony of delegation of powers was held. All next year for the home-club's good will work: President - Mikhail Kunitsyn; Treasurer - Alexey Sukhorukov; Sergeant at Arms - Evgeny Sukonnykh; the permanent secretary - Olga Murzina. It is worth mentioning, that according to Rotary tradition administrative board is replaced annually. It is connected with a rotation principle in our organisation, and also with the program of resistance to corruption among members of club :)

The delegation has arrived to our city under the program GSE at the very beginning of June, 2008. During the stay in our city a fascinating cultural program was organised for delegates. Guests from New Zealand have seen plenty of sights of the city, visited a theatre and had shopping. Having stayed in the city for about a week, they went to the other Siberian cities - Barnaul and Biysk. According to our visitors, they liked Novosibirsk very much.

In the annual seminar for the future Rotary year (2008/2009) presidents and secretaries of District 5010 clubs from our club have taken part: President-Elect Mikhail Kunitsyn, secretary 2008/2009 Olga Murzina and active members of the club Oksana Moiseeva and Evgeny Sukonnykh. The seminar was organised by Rotary club "Tomsk" and took place in Tomsk State University. More than 50 rotarians from Siberia and also the Governor of District 5010 2008/2009 Clyde Boyer, Vivian Boyer, Alan Berg, Chris Offer took part in the seminar.
We would like to say thank Rotary club "Tomsk" for the excellent (!) organisation of the event, for informative excursion across the city, for the terrific concert of the TSU Choir and that have familiarized us with Natalia Neljubova work. On our way home we were thinking received during PETS useful information over, listening to Somana Kukun disk and enjoyed it!

The charity concert was organised by Rotary club "Novosibirsk" with the assistance of other clubs of the city and, in particular, Rotary club "Novosibirsk-Initiative". All money received will be transferred to the account of children's rehabilitation centre "Olesya". The concert, where well-known artists took part, was held in the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society and attracted hundreds of grateful spectators.

As a gift to the 8th of March the Club has presented to the Society of invalids "Gran'" the multipurpose device (fax, printer, scanner). On the basis of the Society of invalids "Gran'" some time ago the sewing workshop has been created. The fax was necessary for members of the Society to accept orders right at the place. Earlier the club has given to the Society of invalids "Gran'" clothes of the autumn-winter season from one of the city shops. The head of the Society of invalids has presented the letter of thanks to our club.

The charity disco for friends and members of our club took place at the "Alpen Grotte" club. As a result of the disco and the auction the club has received 63 200 rubles. These money will be transferred to the children of neurological department of Regional Clinical Hospital, who require treatment. In turn members of the club and their friends had an opportunity to meet, have fun and dance. Besides Aleksey Shpikelman has got a T-shirt, which he hadn't before. ;)

As a result of implementation of the project for 45 pupils of the boarding school 39 the excursion with a professional guide in a comfortable bus, impression from which has eclipsed even a seen mosque, an orthodox and a Catholic churches, has been organised.

The money raised from the charity party "Open heart-5" was used to pay for the inmate of children's home 39 Maxim Glotov's operation on the eyes. The operation was successfully carried out in MNTK "Eye Microsurgery". The boy has a cataract removed and an artificial crystalline lens implantation made.

The club bought vouchers to the winter language camp to four schoolboys from Aleksandro-Nevskoe village of Ubinsk area of Novosibirsk region (275 km away from Novosibirsk). Such help for the gifted children has already become traditional: four more schoolchildren went to the camp last winter. Children had a good rest, found new friends, practiced some English, and on the way home they all were crying.
